The voluntary use of the Assessment System for Sustainable Building (BNB) for building certification by private and public clients as well as the recognising of other systems and providers by the Federal Building Ministry are subject to a separate regulatory procedure.
The following system operators (external certification offices) have so far been recognised by the Federal Building Ministry, who offer an examination of the verification documents and certification according to BNB for construction projects:

For other uses that are not common in federal construction - such as residential buildings or neighbourhoods - various institutions provide additional building certification systems. Systems and providers recognized by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community up to now are:
